The villa is situated in the estate of Pena Parda on the western edge of La Herradura and in walking distance to the beach and village. The former fishing village is still not invaded by the mass tourism. There are food market, small supermarkets, gift shops, book shop, mail office, restaurants and "tapa" bars.
In Almunecar, at 10 minutes drive, are more options of restaurants, shops, street markets, bars as well as a medical centre.
The Costa Tropical is the perfect area for practising all kinds of water sport. The nature beaches and crystal-clear water is popular by divers from all over Europe. The port of Marina del Este, ten minutes drive from the house, offers sailing and motor boats for rent as well as diving courses. The Costa Tropical is known for the micro-climate and pleasant summer temperature.
La Herradura is the ideal place for planning your visits to the historical sights of Granada, Malaga, Ronda, Antequera, Cordoba and the white villages of the Sierra Nevada.
DETAILS OF THE VILLA
The villa was designed and built by the owner in 2003 at an ideal site of this quiet residencial area and nestled in a tropical garden, which offers much privacy even in the high summer season. The house overlooks the bay, village and the surrounding mountains.
The property offers a grand and spacious living area and different open air places, where you can stay depending of the sun position or desired privacy. The living room and the dining room, later with built-in kitchen, leading to a covered terrace, which has a magnificent view over the swimming pool to the Mediterranean.
As you enter the house there is a large open leaving room with 2 sofas and side tables. The room is decorated with book-cases and antique furniture. A satellite TV-set and stereo equipment provides entertainment. The French doors are leading to the covered terrace and the upper level of the garden with swimming pool.
Dining Room / Kitchen
The built-in kitchen is equipped with electric stove, dish washer, refrigerator / freezer and smaller electric appliances. There is a roundtable and 6 chairs and antique cupboard. The kitchen area is divided from the dining room by a sideboard. An extra store-room contains washing machine and extra refrigerators.
During summer time you might probable prefer to eat outside on the terrace with large table and confortable chairs. There is also a built-in bench, which is inviting you for a "siesta" (nap). A Weber gas barbecue is available in front of the terrace.
The master bedroom is equipped with a king-size bed, night tables and wardrobe. An air-condition equipment can be used during the hot summer days. This bedroom has en-suite bathroom with two sinks and a shower.
The second bedroom is a complete furnished guest apartment (40 m2), furniture with king-size bed, wardrobe, extra kitchen fittings and confortable breakfast place for two. Satellite TV-set and MP 3 CD-player are available. This bedroom has its own WC and bathroom with shower. The apartment has a separate entrance to a another large terrace (22 m2). The terrace has a nice view to the garden.
The third bedroom is used as an office room, but can be covered into an extra bedroom by extending the bed-couch, where two persons can confortable sleep. The room consist of a built-in wardrobe and desk. An internet wireless lane is available at free charge. The sliding glass door leads into the "patio" (courtyard) with rotary clothes-drier.
All rooms are equipped with wire-mesh windows.
In the swimming pool area - upper part of the garden - there are 4 sun loungers and small side tables. The guest terrace is equipped with one table, two garden chairs and sunshade.
In the garden area - low part of garden - you will find a cosy pavilion with roundtable and chairs. This is another place from where you can enjoy the view to the bay. An old olive tree gives pleasant shadow during the summer time.
An indoor parking space is available in front of the garage.
The tropical garden has been designed in harmony with the landscape and contains a variety of palms, olive, orange and other tropical trees and plants, which produce always fruits and flowers during the year. We have a gardener and pool man, so that you do not have to worry about watering the plants and cleaning the pool.
