The Spa town of Lanjaron is set within the stunning region of the Alpujarras, on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada, in the province of Granada. Lanjaron is a spa town of around 4000 residents, located on the old Moorish silk route to Persia; the town has a distinctly Moorish feel.
There are thermal baths in the town, where you can also enjoy a wide range of different treatments. The amenities are well provides for visitors, the town has a selection of supermarkets, shops, great bars and restaurants, and the town hall offers provides useful information on the town and region, which you can ask for in English.
Close to the town sits the ruins of an old Moorish castle, which was an important outlook post during the Moorish occupation, and was later used during the Napoleon invasion.
