There is a commercial centre with shops and restaurants on site. At the entrance to the Resort is a garage with shop. Just outside the resort (10 minutes walk) are three local traditional Spanish restaurants which are excellent value. The area is also excellent for walking and hiking. The saltpans to the north of the Mar Menor are some of the most important wetland areas in Europe with a rich and varied wildlife, and are particularly important for bird species of which there are many. The water temperature in the Mar Menor is some 5º warmer than the surrounding Mediterranean Sea. Lo Pagan is famous worldwide for its mud baths with their healing properties. Mar Menor, or Little Sea as it is also known, is Europe�s largest salt-water lagoon. 170 square kilometres of warm, shallow salt water surrounded by sandy beaches. It is an ideal retreat for families with small children, as the water doesnt get any deeper than 7 metres throughout the whole of the lake. The lake is separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a spit of land called La Manga, 24 kilometres long and offering unlimited sandy beaches with crystal clear water perfect for swimming, snorkelling and scuba Diving. Mar Menor is the perfect destination for anyone interested in any kind of water sport and there are plenty of schools offering everything from windsurfing, water-skiing, jet-skiing and fly-surfing to diving, sailing and canoeing. Away from the coast, the terrain changes to high cliffs with stunning scenery and wonderful natural spaces, many of which are protected to preserve their natural beauty and wildlife. Murcia is a great location for anyone wanting an outdoor holiday with plenty of available activities. For walking, mountain biking or horse riding there are plenty of designated walks and pathways with maps obtainable from the local tourist office. For the more adventurous there is white-water canoeing, rock climbing, paragliding and deep-sea diving to name but a few.

Mosa is a 20 minute drive from the beaches of Costa Calida and the Mar Menor with 250 kilometres of sandy beaches. This stretch of coastline is blessed with 315 days of sunshine a year. The area offers a diverse selection of activities for the visitor including water sports, hiking, hill-climbing and much Mar Menor is a shallow lagoon of 170 square km with warm waters and gentle winds. It is known to be one of the best places in Europe to learn water sports.

Murcia City (20 mins) has the world famous 14th C. baroque Cathedral de Santa Maria; Almudi Palace and the 11th C. Castle of Monteagudo, plus great shopping and eating. Cartagena (30 mins) is a beautiful seaside city dating from 223BC with lots of interesting buildings. Los Alcarzares (20 mins) has superb beaches and a promenade stretching for nearly 10 kilometres. The Mar Menor (30 min) is formed by a narrow strip of land known as La Manga (The Sleeve) forming Europes largest salt water lake.

The nearest airport is San Javier which is a 20 minute drive from the resort. It is used by the low cost airlines such as Easyjet and BMI Baby. Alicante International Airport is a 60 minute drive. Murcias new International airport at Corvera is due to open in 2010 and is a 15 minute drive. Car hire is essential to enjoy the area, and there are plenty of hire companies at each airport.

All prices are in Pounds Sterling. We require a Euro 200 deposit with booking, and balance payable by 6 weeks before start of holiday. Together with the deposit we also require a Euro 200 security deposit on the apartment for damages and this is returned, less a contribution of Euro 50 for linen/cleaning, if no damages.
